Working Remotely in South Austin

After years of working at an office, starting to work from home last year seemed like a dream come true.

I didn’t have to commute, which meant an extra half hour of sleep. I could work in my pj’s or yoga clothes, so work became a lot more comfy. And I had the flexibility to create my own schedule, which is the ultimate dream.

I still love the flexiblity of working from home, but sometimes I feel like I’m trapped in my home and living in my pj’s.

Luckily, working from home means I can really work from anywhere. So, to spice up my routine (and change out of my pj’s), I took my work to the coffee shops of South Austin. Here are my favorites so far:

5 Great Coffee Shops for Working Remotely in South Austin

7th Flag: This seems to be a popular spot for remote workers, however it’s not too big and surprisingly not too crowded. They play good tunes and serve great coffee.  I love the blueberry muffins and chocolate chip cookies, because neither tastes too sweet.

Radio: Great tunes and great coffee. Like most places in South Austin, this one is usually crowded. However, it’s spacious enough to find a quite corner and focus on some work.

Summer Moon: Cozy little shop with great coffee. I like to sit in the sofa chairs by the back wall and I recommend anything with moon milk!

Opa: Spacious coffee shop serving delicious Greek food. Try the moussaka! This is another popular spot for remote workers. There’s a variety of seating options and several nooks. It’s a great place to grab a comfy chair and get some work done.

Cenote: This is my favorite spot for working outside.  There’s a shaded area to the East, small tables on the front porch and picnic tables surrounding the whole place.  Although, the wifi isn’t great at some of the picnic tables on the West side. Great food and great coffee. Grab an iced latte to keep you cool in the Texas heat!

There are so many more coffee shops that my laptop wants to test out, so I’ll keep you posted as I find more favorites.

If you know of any great spots, let me know in the comments.
