Unearthing Your Unique Perspective

When I first started writing as a coach, I tried to sound like everyone else.
Big mistake!
I sounded about as authentic as a three-dollar bill.
It took me a while to realize that my unique voice was my superpower.
Your unique perspective is exactly what makes you valuable.
For me, it was my background in improv comedy.
I realized I could use those skills to help my clients think on their feet in high-pressure situations.
To unearth your unique perspective:
  • Reflect on your life experiences and how they shape your coaching
  • Identify skills from other areas of your life that apply to coaching
  • Consider your personal journey and the challenges you've overcome
  • Ask trusted friends or colleagues what they see as your unique strengths
